Jagged 1 is a ligand for multiple Notch receptors and is involved in the mediation of Notch signaling. Jagged 1 may be involved in cell-fate decisions during hematopoiesis and seems to be involved in early and late stages of mammalian cardiovascular development. Jagged 1 inhibits myoblast differentiation by similarity and enhances fibroblast growth factor-induced angiogenesis (in vitro).
